Weekly recap: "Last exam, mom's birthday and the Color Run!"

Monday and Tuesday: At the start of the week I still had to retake my last exam. I failed the first one in January, so I had to retake the exam during summer break. I’m getting the results somewhere next week, but I actually have a pretty good feeling about it. After that I got some coffee with a friend, because coffee is always a good plan. It was time to leave Brussels and go back to my parent’s home. On the way home I picked up my mom’s birthday gift, her birthday was on the 5th of September. The most exciting part of the day was picking the print giveaway winner, congratulations Imran, I’m going to try and get the print to you asap.

Wednesday: After my exams I usually go hibernate for a few days, just try and destress from everything that has been pumped into my head. This time was different though. I felt energized and ready to tackle some tasks I had been putting off for weeks. I went out and shot a video tutorial about one of my levitation techniques. I spoke about how I do those types of photos in another blog post and someone asked me to make a video. That'll be up on Friday the 11th. When I got home I got a text from one of my best friends and we decided to go out for the evening and have a few drinks. We're currently in different universities so we don't see each other very often. It was lovely to catch up with her again. I had a great time Jana, you're amazing (if you're reading this)

Thursday: I got accepted to stay in my place in Brussels so I had to go sign the contract at uni. After that Ann-Sophie, you might have seen her in my camping trip post, came over to explore the city with me. Hopefully I was a good guide, I've really grown to love the city this year and I want to do it justice. We walked around, saw all different parts of the city.  If you're looking for a nice lunch in Brussels, definitely go check out Peck 47! You won't regret it. We also popped into the Tashen store at Grand Sablon and I couldn't resist picking up a new book. This time I got the Linda McCartney - life in photographs book and I am in love.

Friday: Another busy day, this time with Lore. We met online around 6 to 7 years ago, I know that sounds crazy, and we've kept in touch ever since. We had always talked about doing a portrait shoot but we never actually got around to doing it. So Friday we finally did and I had a great time. We explore Hasselt and we came across some things I had never noticed before, which is always a great thing. We had a lovely late lunch at Tarte Tatin, which I totally recommend to everyone in the area. In the meanwhile my first blogpost on the new schedule went online so if you haven't checked that one out, definitely go do that now! It's about my skydiving experience earlier on this summer.

Saturday: My waking up process went like this: I woke up at 8am and the first thing I did was grab a bag of balloons and blew up around 20 of them. After feeling lightheaded for a while I stumbled downstairs, made some coffee and lit up the birthday candles for my mom's birthday. We had a lovely morning celebrating. Then I started filming the remaining parts for my levitation tutorial and finished editing. In the meanwhile I prepared for the color run in Brussels on Sunday. I've also found out that preparing blog posts during an entire week takes its tole, but it'll all be worth it when they'll be up and running! At 10pm we decided on going to the movies, so we went to see Sinister 2. It definitely kept us all awake, great horror movie. It pulls out every classic horror movie trick but it works in a strange way.

Sunday: While I'm writing this I'm still couching up blue powder paint. I had been looking forward to this day for months, I ran the color run in Brussels! It was such an amazing experience! It's a 5K run but you can do it as slow as you want. Wies and I were able to run the entire thing so we were proud of ourselves. After the run we were able to get onto the festival area where there was a countdown to throw paint every 20 minute. I had so much fun but I'm exhausted now.

If you've read this far I'm impressed, thanks! This won't become a weekly thing because usually my week isn't this busy and productive but maybe I'll do a another one somewhere next month. Next week I'll be in Lisbon and the week after uni is starting again. These are super exciting times for me. Also, a quick update on my grades. I got my results and I passed all of them, I'm now able to completely start my second year and I couldn't be happier! This week was amazing and I have to thank everyone for being a part of it.
