As you've probably seen I haven't been posting any content, nothing, nada. Not that I have an excuse for it. When I think about it I have over a hundred excuses for my lack of productivity when it comes to the thing I love the most, photography and content creation in general. All of those excuses just seem useless. Nobody wants to hear excuses and nobody cares for "I'm going to." It's the result that counts, and that's where I feel like I go wrong. So here's a rant about productivity, which also serves as a kick in the butt for myself, I need it.
Productivity is something that happens in the moment, not something that is planned. It's not something you can put aside for later on. The amount of times I've told myself I'd do something later on, or the next day, or the day after is uncountable. Understanding that you can start being productive right this moment is a big step. It's a big step in a long journey, a long journey towards a final product. A final product that's not just a specific goal, but a feeling. Feeling good about yourself, about what you have accomplished at the end of the day. Going to bed and feeling good about the stuff you did and not being able to wait for the next day to come, that's what I want to feel. That's what I should feel, right?
This all doesn't mean lazy days are bad, lazy days are great. But when the ratio of lazy, unproductive days, where you're just watching Netflix and youtube videos all day and your only exercise is the path towards the kitchen and back, it becomes a problem. Combining my creative side with getting a bachelor degree in communications, working during the weekends to relief my parents from some of the costs and commuting back and forth between my home and Brussels gives me lots of excuses to let that side slip away. Not anymore though. With this post I want to hold myself accountable for my actions AND I wanted to announce some new projects I've been working on for a while now.
This news is mainly for my Dutch and Belgian followers. Together with my friend Carlene (who you might have seen in previous shoots) I'll be starting a new blog very soon. It'll be totally separate from my photography content but I'll still be doing most of the visuals for the blog. The name and website will be released very soon and I can't wait for it! Thank you so much for keeping up with me and my work for this long.
